Help / Backup and your computers

Backup and your computers

Backups are not part of the beta. They come in a later update, so keep your own copy of your work. This page also says how to add another computer to your account. You can do that in the beta.

Who can open a backup

The parts of this page about backups describe the later update. In the beta, the app has no Backup screen.

A backup copies the projects you pick to another of your own computers. It is encrypted before it leaves. Only your approved computers and your recovery code can open a backup. The computer that holds it does not get the keys, so it cannot open it. Nearfield cannot open it either. If you lose the code and every computer, nobody can recover it.

Samples outside your project folders are not in the backup yet. That means your User Library, your packs, Splice and any other sample folder. Keep your own copy of them.
