Help / Backup and your computers / Check and restore a backup

Check and restore a backup

Check that a backup works, and bring a project back from it.

This page describes a later update. In the beta, the app has no Backup screen.

Steps

  1. Press “Check my backup now”. It fetches a small test file back from the backup and checks it.
  2. On the row of a project that you back up, press “Restore a copy” to bring it back.
  3. Press “Write the copy” to confirm.

When it worked

Nearfield writes a new folder beside your project. Your live project is not touched.

Remove the backup target

If you remove the backup target, nothing that the backup holds is deleted. Press “Remove backup target”, then press “Yes, remove it”.
