Help / Share and work together / Share a project

Share a project

Send one project to a person you are connected with. Nothing is shared until you choose it.

A delete never crosses to another computer

  • If a file is deleted on one computer, Nearfield does not delete it on any other computer.
  • If your collaborator deletes a sample from a shared project, your copy stays where it is.

First connect with the person.

Steps

  1. Open the project page and press “Who can see this”.
  2. Find the person. Press “Share with” and their name.
  3. Read what the share sends. Then press “Just share”. To hand the project over too, press “Share and hand off”.

When it worked

The share shows up in the other person's Inbox. See Accept a share.

More about this

Before you press, Nearfield tells you what will travel. See What a share sends. On the project page, you can also press “Check this project before you share”. It finds which samples can be sent.

In the beta, a share goes directly from your computer to theirs. It arrives only while both computers are on and online at the same time. Cloud sharing, which brings a share while the other computer is off, comes in an update.

A plugin that works on your computer may not open on theirs. See Plugins on your collaborator's computer.

Stop sharing

On “Who can see this”, open the menu beside a person. Press “Stop sharing”. Everyone keeps their local copy.
