Plugins on your collaborator's computer

A plugin that works on your computer may not open on theirs. Nearfield checks this when you choose the person.

You can share or hand off a project to a person who uses another kind of computer.

Steps

  1. On the project page, press “Share”.
  2. Choose the person in the list.
  3. Read the warning under the list of samples. It names the person. It names their kind of computer when Nearfield knows it.

What the words mean

Each group in the warning starts with a symbol and a word. “Won't open” means the plugin format cannot run on their computer. For example, an Audio Unit cannot run on Windows. “Can't tell” means Nearfield does not know enough to say.

More about this

This warning looks at the plugin format only. When you connected, their Nearfield sent a list of their plugins. If that list lacks a plugin this Set uses, a separate line says so before you press.

If nothing is wrong, the warning does not show. The warning never blocks the share. You can still press the button.
