Accept a share

Take a project that someone shared with you. The share shows up in your Inbox.

A delete never crosses to another computer

  • If a file is deleted on one computer, Nearfield does not delete it on any other computer.
  • If your collaborator deletes a sample from a shared project, your copy stays where it is.

Steps

  1. Open the Inbox.
  2. On the card of the project, press “Make a new project”. If Nearfield finds a project of yours that looks like it, you can press “Use this one”.
  3. Open “See what's arriving” to see what has come so far. The page is called Arrivals.

When it worked

Nearfield asks for the samples you do not have. They arrive by themselves. On a first share, the Set goes into the project by itself when its samples arrive.

Nearfield copies the Set into your project. It points the copy at the samples on your computer. The Set your collaborator sent stays as it arrived.

More about this

When a later version of a Set arrives, press the button that starts with “Put in” to use it. If you do not want their changes, press “Keep mine”. Nothing is moved or deleted.

When the Set goes into the project, Nearfield files the samples you did not have. They go in your User Library, in a folder named for the sender. See File samples that arrived.
