Fix everything now

Nearfield looks at every project and repairs what it can. This can take a long time.

How every fix works

  • Nearfield never changes your own Set.
  • A fix saves a new copy beside your Set. The copy has [repaired] in its name.
  • Open the copy in Live and check it. Keep the one you like.

The screen is called “Fix everything now”. It is the main button on the Fix tab, and step 5 of the setup. You can leave and come back.

Steps

  1. In the setup, press “Start”. On the Fix tab, press “Fix everything now”. If no plan waits for you, the scan starts. Nearfield reads the main Set of each project. It writes nothing yet.
  2. Read the plan. It says how many projects get a repaired copy and how many samples are copied.
  3. Press “Write 1 repaired copy”, or the same button with a bigger number.
  4. Open each repaired copy in Live. When it opens and sounds right, press “It opens and sounds right”.

When it worked

Nearfield copies each sample that it needs once into the folder NF Shortened in your User Library. It does not change a shared project.

Undo a run

Press “Undo this run” to take the run back. Undo removes only the repaired copies that you have not opened in Live. It also removes the sample copies that this run made, when no Set and no preset in your library uses them. Your own files stay.

In the setup, you can press “Later” instead of “Start”.
