Find untracked work
See work on this computer that Nearfield does not track yet, and choose what to do with it.
The screen is called “Find untracked work”. Nearfield changes nothing until you choose.
Steps
- Open the Projects tab.
- Open “Find untracked work” from the head of the Projects screen.
- Choose a button on each card.
The two kinds of card
- An “Untracked folder” card is a folder that holds samples your projects use. Press “Add to places to look” to start tracking it. Press “Keep separate” to leave it out. Nearfield remembers your choice and does not ask again.
- A “Lone Set” card is a Set that sits inside a known project but does not count as one of its versions. Press “Count as a version” to add it to the history of the project. Press “Make a new project” to track it on its own.
Each card has a short note under “What these do”. No file is moved or changed. A Set stays where it is on disk.
When it worked
When there is nothing to sort out, the screen says so. That is the normal state.
More about this
If the screen says to read your library first, Nearfield does not yet know where each sample sits. Read your library, then open the screen again.
